Past peak on this. Raisin and prune are prominent and little fruit left on the palette. — 24 days ago

Primarily Chenin Blanc with small amounts of Semillon and Grenache Blanc blended in. Light golden color. Expensive aromas of stone fruit, white flowers, flint and honey. Flavors of cooked peaches, ripe apples, tangerine and a subtle mineral backbone. A touch of honey on the long and lingering finish. Slightly creamy/silky texture. (Lees aging?) Vibrant and zesty acidity. Rich and round with a great mouthfeel. Consistently solid vintage after vintage. Appreciate you adding this one to the tasting lineup, Chris B. I need to drink more Chenin. — 3 days ago
Like most of Philip Tongi wines, this 20 year old is just hitting it’s stride. The nose has lush bold fruits, dark plums, blackberry with a hint of licorice. Some old leather, faint earthy tobacco. Decanted for two hours found a refined texture. Smooth with some sediment, lushness is highlighted by the boldness of the flavors. The finish lingers…

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Earthy nose with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, chocolates, Indian spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, earth, dark chocolates, green vegetables and herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, black plums, cherries, oak, dark chocolates, coffee, spices, earth, black tea, light green vegetables and peppercorn.
Spicy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon from Spring Mountain District in Napa Valley. Elegant and nicely balanced. Fruit forward and complex, with a soft mouthfeel. Feels like a Left Bank Bordeaux.
Needed 3 hours in the decanter to open up properly, so be patient.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
I've had a few different vintages of this wine and this vintage seems to be more approachable at this young age.
Delicious by itself, and paired beautifully with the beef brisket.
A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (50% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

3/19/26 - Boma African buffet - 2025 vintage - really solid chard — 6 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2019 pours a pale straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of bright tropical fruit, apple, petrol, white flowers and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with zippy minerality. So tasty. Drink now through 2034. — a month ago
Last bottle of ‘07 Sherwin, home of the Patriotic Pour. Opened on 25th anniversary of 9/11. The wine and vintage that got me into collecting. Still going strong. Never forget! — 18 days ago
1992 vintage. Decent fill. Perfect cork extracted with a Durand. Decanted and tasted after 30 minutes and 1 hour. Plenty of color. Wicked, durty nose. Light-medium body. A lingering dryness afoot in the complexity of flavors that just endure. Seems simple and easy but that was always this producer's calling card. True harmony, sense of place and balance without overreaching is an eternal struggle and rarely achieved. Pity this winery no longer strides the Earth in this guise. Five bottles remaining. 7.31.26. — 2 months ago
An explosion of apricot flavor. Round and smooth, heavy weight, with sufficient but not overt acidity. A beautiful sweet wine. — 3 months ago
Wine 1500 🙈 ; opened for World Cup starting 2026 Mexico and South Africa; The cork popped off…; but still managed to get the fine juice out 😉; Vintage 2006, just like the „Summer Fairy Tale“ of the World Cup in Germany; and the wine leaves you wanting more „mehr Lust“, beautifully aged, fine fruit 😋 Wishing everyone a wonderful and peaceful World Cup — 4 months ago
Light fruity aroma, dark red, medium body, dry and succulent, dark fruit flavor, paired nicely with venison. — 8 months ago

Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2006 pours a garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated black currants, blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, Poblano pepper, cocoa, fine warm spices and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Quite delicious and a really lovely example of the 2006 vintage. Drink now through 2036. — 6 days ago
