A fantastic nose. Intense lemon, cool slate, an oiliness. Surprisingly oaky on the palate. Lovely balance and freshness but a few more years to let that oak settle and this should be amazing — 12 days ago
Fresh, fruity and juicy, with sweetness balanced by acidity. Low alcohol and quaffable, perfect for a warm day. Pairs exceptionally well with corned beef and cabbage. Nice find at Costco. 2023 vintage. — 17 days ago
Tasted alongside the Kistler Sonoma Mountain Chardonnay of the same vintage, this wine opens with nose of ripe peach, lemon curd, lightly toasted almond, and a whisper of vanilla—echoing the Kistler’s profile. However, the resemblance stops there. Pineapple and underripe star fruit emerges, lending a refreshing, aromatic lift. On the palate, the tropical theme persists, layered with zesty lime and wet stone minerality. Bright, sharp acidity is balanced by a softly textured mid-palate. Clean precise finish. — a month ago
Pop and pour. A splendid medium straw color. On the nose: asian pear, crisp apples, lemon rind, almonds, floral. Taste: chalky, oily, vibrant wine with lemon zest, white peach, saline, slate, and a mineral lime peel long finish. YUM! Nice compelling wine at 19 years. — 4 months ago
Lemon and oak in balance, so best of California style (though not clean and fresh as you find in French style). At 5+ years old, will continue to age well though fine for drinking now. February 2025. — 3 months ago
Light silvery straw gold color. Clean aromas and flavors of yellow delicious apple and citrus fruits with a light dose of mineral on the medium-plus finish. Crisp acidity and quite fresh tasting. This “Valdadige version” was much better than I expected. Very dry and quite refreshing. — 5 months ago
