Beautiful wine, decant before hand for the best nose. — 16 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose with black fruits, cedar, tobacco and chocolate notes.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, cedar, vanilla, leather, earth, chocolates, tobacco, coffee, cola, licorice and bitter herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This 12 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is drinking deliciously now. Rich and extracted, and 'In your face' kind of wine.
Fruit forward and good right out of the bottle, but would have been even better after a couple of hours of airtime, but it finished way too quickly.
Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot. 924 cases produced.
14.6% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

A stunner. — 11 days ago
At Pressoir NYC burgh tasting - this 2009 from the magnum was best of the Volnays and best of the tasting overall - deep brooding structured fruit, stellar - and notably better than the 2008 — 3 months ago
Wow. Wow and wow. This was amazing! It’s definitely still early on. I let this decant for 2.5 hours before the first sip. It was revved and ready by then and was stellar by hour 4+. Rich and deep but silky smooth. Currants and an earthy/smokey quality. Loved this! — 5 days ago
Tart cherries , nice acidity. Easy to like — 3 months ago

It’s been a couple years since I last enjoyed the 1996 and based off this experience, it’s continuing to age gracefully.
Double decanted the night before. The wine pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of cassis, kirsch, purple flowers, tobacco, dried herbs, green pepper, old wood and gravelly earthy. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and sanguine. So much soul, it could make Marvin Gaye blush. Drink now with patience (and a long decant) through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 11 days ago
