aromas are so complex with sliced fresh and dried ginger, subtle pie crust, tarte tatin and hints of nutmeg with some salted caramel. Toasted bread, too. Always subtle. The palate is full- to medium-bodied yet hemmed-in with a freshness and balance that draws you back. Savory and vibrant — 4 months ago
Love this wine. Gritty, deadlifts more than me. Nose is funky but also deeply fruited. Lovely “sous bois.” A nose from yesteryear. Wild florals, wet earth, stanky black cherry. Big, deep, thick blackberry fruit on the palate. Suave and also rustic tannins full of black cherry and blackberry fruit. Fresh. Needs air but full of character and so damn good. Huge spice on the nose today. Heavenly. Big time Xmas spice. Palate is all silk and decadent fruit. Glorious. — 5 months ago
No ratings on this wine in a while it seems. The 2024 vintage is quite quaffable, although more tannin than I’d expect in a carbonic wine. Perhaps semi-carbonic, with some time on that 100% whole cluster following the carbonic maceration? A very enjoyable wine though, fruit forward as you’d expect from carbonic but with more structure and grip. Well made. — a month ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner at Le Mazenay. The 2017 “Les Vergers” 1er Cru pours a light straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of green apple, passionfruit, starfruit, lemon curd, honeysuckle, a touch of raw almond, some matchstick, and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Solid stuff and showing really well. Drink now through 2037. — 4 months ago
This comes out of the bottle fully charged up and swinging for the stands!
There is so much nose I wouldn't have pegged it as straight white Burgundy on nose alone - there's a feast under your nostrils of figs, ultra ripe bosc pears, caramel or maybe jaggery, hay or straw, and candied lemon peel 🍋
The texture is thick, regal and opulent.
A lingering finish that carries those straw, hay and lemon peel notes to the back of your mouth.

I was unaware of this cuvée. This is only the 10th time it’s been released since its inauguration in 1982. Lots going on. Upon pouring, the bubbles disappeared quickly. A powerful nose of strawberry, cherries and florals yet I do not feel this was fully open.
In the mouth citrus like acidity. Builds in the mouth but in a restrained way. Very vinous. Creamy texture with layers of red fruit, toast and spice vacationing in your mouth. Deceptively elegant texture . — 22 days ago
