Leo De Pauillac

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Medium deep ruby with a thin garnet ruby rim . Quite closed with some grafite, hickory , cedar and crème de cassis , dark cherry , red plum , quite dense but with quite a classic , dusty profile . On the palate this is again quite classic , with crème de cassis , cedar , blackberry, plum . Good acidity and fine , gritty tannin , well balanced . Pretty good length with a saline, grafite touch. With time
in the glass this is drinking quite well , still showing dark fruit and youthfulness but at the same time quite classic and serious. Probably will improve over the next 5 years or so and last well a further 5-10

This is incredible. Such great balance of so many parts. It’s dense, savory, smoky, floral, and juicy with great acidity. The fruit is there but not pronounced, blackberry and cassis- just a balanced part of the whole. I could drink this every night. — 16 days ago

Château Lafite Rothschild

Carruades de Lafite Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Lighter in colour than the GPL, with ruby , garnet core and wider ruby garnet rim . Quite open , cool , lightly herbal nose with redder fruit , red currant , touch of red plum , cedar , grafite and tobacco . Quite light and elegant on the palate , cool , mineral, earthy tobacco . Quite good mouthfeel but certainly more focused and reserved , nothing showy . Quite ‘Lafite lite’ in style, doesn’t have the complexity or depth of the 1st wine obviously, but gives a good impression as to the style of the Chateau . Resolved tannins , balanced acidity , reasonable length . Grafite and tobacco tinged finish. Drink now and over the next 5 years or so — 3 days ago

I have never been happy with their second at its price point.

The oldest of a 4 bottle vertical I bought a few weeks ago. In a perfect window. Made a vodka sauce and wow. Great compliment. Fresh herbs after an hour of being open. Can’t wait to try the other 3 years. — 17 days ago

Cru Bourgeois Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Atherton Wine Imports 2026 tasting at République, Los Angeles. 2019 vintage. Medium-medium heavy bod. First third (of the palate) better than the last third. Makes promises and only partially keeps them. The 2018 had total follow-through. 3.18.26. — 12 days ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

+2 hour decant(decent sediment). A marvelous dark magenta color. On the nose: perfumed red fruit, potting soil, graphite, cedar lined cigar box, herbaceous. Taste: Powerful, structured wine with red fruit, currants, planting soil, spice, and a cedar-minerally-mocha lingering and evolving finish! YUM! — 15 days ago

Absolutely one of the very best red Bordeaux producers. I can’t help but think what this is like in 2040 and beyond.
