vintage 2019 | Minerality with a hazelnut touch, good structure, nice acidity. I consequently rate this wine high (tasted blind) — 3 months ago
I really enjoyed this blend. — 3 months ago
It’s been a couple years since I last enjoyed the 1996 and based off this experience, it’s continuing to age gracefully.
Double decanted the night before. The wine pours a garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of cassis, kirsch, purple flowers, tobacco, dried herbs, green pepper, old wood and gravelly earthy. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and sanguine. So much soul, it could make Marvin Gaye blush. Drink now with patience (and a long decant) through 2041. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass — 7 months ago

Beautiful wine, decant before hand for the best nose. — 7 months ago
2020 vintage. From dedicated parcels, Marquis de Calon Ségur is very different from the grand vin, with Merlot dominating the blend. Immediately expressive, with abundant red fruit and flowers. Impeccable purity of fruit and a silky mouthfeel. Good value at one third of the price of the grand vin. Abv. 14,5%. — a month ago

Wow, almost four years since my last bottle. Big wine! Tannins softened and chalky. Acidity still strong, yet still very balanced with just ripe dark fruit. Charcoal, pencils shavings, granite stone. Great mouthfeel. Long finish! Drinking better than my last bottle with many many years left. — 4 days ago
