Dead… was my first impression.
So I put the remaining 2/3 of the bottle in the fridge.
On day two this showed more balance and depth. Dark fruit notes and grilled meat as well. Alas, the brown notes of cola, raisins and dates were still present. Although this must have been a suboptimal bottle, I finished the remainder with pleasure! — 18 days ago

Even in an average vintage like 2007 the Bin 28 can still be showing well at 19 years of age. Blackberry and Penfolds Choc mocha. Some herb garden and liquorice. Will not improve but could carry on for a couple more years. — 2 months ago

Deep, dark Ruby red color with a fruit forward nose, lots of ripe berries with oaky notes. Jammy big and bold blackberry flavors with some spice, cacao, cedar and leather notes with nice mouthfeel. This is a lovely old vine Zinfandel from various vineyards Bedrock sources their juice from, smooth, balanced, long finish, but a great example of what not to serve AFTER a Bedrock single vineyard wine (like the 2023 Old Hill Heritage we just finished), I’m happy to open this any day of the week, but the comparison is stark! — 17 days ago

Total sleeper: while the label simply says ‘Syrah’, the reality in the making of it is that it’s a co-fermentation of 85% Syrah from some of Bedrock’s prized vineyards and (about) about 15% Viognier. And man does it work- particularly for the price.

Primarily Chenin Blanc with small amounts of Semillon and Grenache Blanc blended in. Light golden color. Expensive aromas of stone fruit, white flowers, flint and honey. Flavors of cooked peaches, ripe apples, tangerine and a subtle mineral backbone. A touch of honey on the long and lingering finish. Slightly creamy/silky texture. (Lees aging?) Vibrant and zesty acidity. Rich and round with a great mouthfeel. Consistently solid vintage after vintage. Appreciate you adding this one to the tasting lineup, Chris B.
