2005 vintage. Great fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Small amount of chunky and powdery sed. Nose a bit musty but never funky during a high decant. Medium-heavy body. Tremendous power throughout. Can easily go another two decades. Still packing the signs of youth such as individual flavors easily evident vs melded/integrated ones. Tasted more like a 2020 vintage. Was hoping for more black tea, espresso, orange citrus peel, soy sauce notes (and there were some). This one's gonna need a bigger boat...er...another 7-8 years or a 5 hour decant to shed some of that overt power in a trade off for nuance. Delicious in its own way but not easy. Cherry confit nose with balsamic violets. Soy attack. Some energy and firm tannin (from oak?). Beautiful finish. — a month ago
Off the chain. This RSV is elegant in every way with nice floral hints on the nose and velvety texture on the palate. Nice medium to longish finish. A real treat from a friend that is a self described “Burgundy-snob.” Maybe a very generous Burgundy snob. His mother taught him to share. — 24 days ago
Drinking the 2003 in 2025. Light ruby color. Rich bouquet, with lots of toasted oak, deep dark ripe fruit and an earthy finish. High alcohol!! Very smooth flavors, wonderful wine !! — 24 days ago
Simply brilliant! 2 hours slow ox and drank over the next three aromatically a bit dark, nose of tar, tobacco, dried rose petals wonderfully beautifully mid palate brilliantly balanced the wine is simply amazing! — 9 days ago
I was going through my La Chapelle section today and my eyes got stuck on this 1999 - bottle looked absolutely pristine and I decided it was a perfect age to drink. Cork was in great condition and the wine was powerful and youthful with no signs of oxidation. Could have kept the bottle for a few more years, but it was probably perfect today. All the complex leathery earthy goodness you expect from this wine was there. — a month ago

Bordeaux Blend- Cabernet Sauvignon 70%, Cabernet Franc 15%, Merlot 15% 2018 was wet season and this impacted the normally bold style.
It is still full bodied - deep ruby red colour - but t’s a more lighter, elegant classic style, with blackcurmat red berry and cassis. So what is lost in power is replaced by a more refined and elegant wine.
