After tasting next to other organic/low intervention wines, the structure and finesse of this wine becomes more evident. Smooth red and dark fruit on the palate with good but no overwhelming acidity. Drinks like a wine from a colder climate. — 2 months ago
Such a good pre dinner bottle. Light and refreshing. — 3 months ago
Quite nice Etna Rosso with Pat’s spaghetti ($27). Fruity with a nice finish. — 6 months ago
Terrific aromatic intensity with minerals, meyer lemon, sea air and more. Usually needs to open aromatically. The palate is a wonder. Classic PF finesse and airiness along with massive power and depth. Sapid and long. This needs mega air but the quality is off the charts. Today is all toast and razors. Nose is gorgeous. Salted cream. Unreal minerality. Great acid and length. Killer energy. — 2 months ago
dfp, loved! a little oily, a little mineraly, tiny bit of stank at the finish — 6 months ago
Got ahold of three of these allocated babies that get sold out every year by spring.
Volcanic must, spicy berries on the nose.
Wohooo what a mouth punch. Prickly on the tongue. Bracing acidity balanced with an earthy, breezy cherry and berry medley. An herbaceous, mint-adjacent undercurrent as well.
Both stunning, subtle in its way, and stunning in fruit quality and minerality — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days where it displayed a slow, steady evolution throughout. The 2018 pours a pretty, deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe Morello cherry, carnations, bergamot, sandalwood, dried green herbs and dry earth. Bruised strawberry and old library notes showing on Day 2. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Ive been cautiously optimistic with the 2018 vintage but I thought this showed really well. Drink now through 2033. — 5 months ago

Best red if the trip, a Franchetti from Pascopissciaro, a round bodied nerello mascalese from the cellar at Cave Ox in Solicchiata on the north slope of Etna. Would be even better with a few years — a month ago
