Spottswoode

Family Estate Grown St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

2018 vintage. Last tasted 12.5.25 (9.4), 1.31.25 (9.4) and 10.27.23 (9.4). Bigg stuff...which is something I never would have said about Spottswoode vintages back in the 80's and 90's. The new premium Coravin btg Napa Cab. 3.19.26. — 3 days ago

Au Bon Climat

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2023

Clear, pale ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary and secondary aromas of raspberries, pomegranates, and cloves; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, low tannins, medium alcohol, medium body, and pronounced intensity primary and secondary flavors of cherries, cranberries, dried leaves, and hibiscus with a long finish. This wine is complex and balanced. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. Nellie likes it too. — 19 days ago

This one had signs of seepage on it so I opened it planning on throwing it out. What an amazing wine and so fresh! Maybe another bottle seeped on to this one? — 24 days ago

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2005

1 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A striking medium purplish garnet color with bricking. On the nose: Inviting notes of dried red fruit, currants, pencil shavings, floral, stewed meat, milk chocolate. Taste: fully mature, savory, silky wine with dried plum, ground coffee, earth, minerals, tobacco, and a sour cherry/green bell pepper/graphite long finish. YUM!! Drink em if you got em. — 14 days ago

Jack's Masterpiece Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Special name, special occasion. Love ‘12 CA Cabs and this one especially. Surreal power for age 14. Still dense fruit, good balance but still more tilt and less finesse. Maybe better in 3-5 years but shows the heft of a well made Napa Cab. — a month ago

Tensley

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2008

Rich red fruits, despite the 15% ABV, this smells and tastes like a cool climate Syrah (my vague recollection was that 2008 was a cooler year, though this vineyard usually produces the ripest and most high-octane Syrah in the Tensley stable), nice balance, lingering finish, very fine!’ — 11 days ago

Great, thanks a lot for the feedback!!! I will check for the other references but I must admit that US wines are not that much available in Belgium. However, Ravenswood is sold at my local wineshop though

@Anthony De Blasi, you say Ravenswood is sold at your local shop (and I apologize last night for not realizing you’re in Belgium) — note that the really inexpensive Ravenswood Zin is just so-so, try one of the single vineyard to get a better feel.

Bold, full hints of ripe blackberries, black plums and dark cherries. Dry and balanced tannins / acidity. Wait for the smell of old leather. Great finish. — a month ago
