Really dark fruit and a splash of mint. To quote Led Zeppelin and the legendary @Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego , you gotta whole lotta oak, you gotta whole lotta oak 🎶

Upon opening, the tannins were overbearing, but after a two hour decant it opened up and softened nicely, with cherry, anise, earth, violets, and roses coming through on the nose. On the palate, the anise and floral flavors shine bright, and the finish is exquisite, with the floral notes providing a vivid, persistent finish with underlying notes of spice and earth. The wine has a smooth mouthfeel, with tannins providing astringency on the finish. Such a beautiful, elegant barbaresco that paired wonderfully with tagliatelle bolognese. — 6 days ago
My friend @Dave had this recently and said it was drinking well so I pulled one of my bottles. I struggle to find food that good Bordeaux shines with. Maybe our cooking wheelhouse doesn’t click with it. In any event, AFTER dinner this wine seemed really good. Nose is developing some nice complexity, with dark cassis, roasted Persian spices, cedar, moist gray clay, a bit of sweet wafty smoke. Rich and softening nicely in the mouth, with cigar box and cassis/plummy flavors, and some flinty minerality in the finish. I almost always like wine with food better than just wine, but not this. This is really fine to sip and contemplate. Great value. — 4 days ago

Medium bodied with sediment, this wine had a complexity of different distinct flavors and aromas. Cedar, black cherry, cocoa, cranberries, and some pepper among others. Medium to high tannins, with sediment after 8 years it could continue to lay down for years. Well balanced and very smooth with a finish that lingers. — 4 days ago
2020 vintage. Branaire Ducru is always a good idea, and so is the second wine Duluc de Branaire Ducru ( and not Château Duluc as the app suggests). A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 5,5% Cabernet Franc, and 1,5% Petit Verdot . The nose is a bit closed initially, with some air black and red fruit, lead pencil, and flowers appear. An elegant style, accessible now, but I am sure it will benefit from a few more years in the bottle.Abv. 13%. — 8 days ago
Sipping Fine Wine
Deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, earth and toasty spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and blueberries with notes of herbs, leather, baking spice and toasty cedar notes. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with cacao, toasty oak, fruit and earthy mineral tang. Very nice now. — 2 days ago
