From a double-magnum. The 2012 “Il Carbonaione” pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing and initially reticent. After almost an hour of air, the bouquet emerged to reveal some funky cherry, red flowers, bergamot, horse blanket, green herbs, old wood and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. After plenty of air, this became really tasty stuff but the large format has really retarded the aging process. Similar bottles likely need well into the next decade to enter the zone. Deep Ruby with aromas of fresh ripe berry fruits, floral and slight spicy notes. Blend of 95% Sangiovese; 5% Canaiolo & Colorino, aged 24 months in oak. Fruit comes primarily from a small parcel of galestro-rich soils. On the palate cherry and black raspberry flavors, adding lovely floral notes, well balanced with acidity and fine tannins. This ages so well. A balance of mature and fresh: cigars, tomato leaf, eggplant (first time I think I ever said that!), cassis.
Finely structured tannins, the acids have mellowed a little but still very present.

온도가 너무 차가울땐 산도만 꽤 느껴지고 잘 모르겠더라
바닐라, 오크 향이 느껴지고 뒷맛이 확실히 남는다

꺼내놓고 좀 식히니까 향이 확실히 살아난다. 바닐라나 오크향이 올라오고 마시면 바닐라에서 오는 고소함?이 있다
