Crisp, clear, bitter undertones, paired well with a lemony spaghetti and seafood dish. — 2 months ago
透き通った黄金色。甘みのあるはちみつの香り。オレンジ、ハチミツ、バナナなど南国のフルーツの味わいがあるが、どこか陰の印象もある不思議な味わい。オバイデ60%、メルワー40%

Blend is actually 50% Cinsault, 35% Syrah and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Very dark inky ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas of black and blue berry fruit, violets and tobacco. The rich palate features flavors of cooked black cherry, blueberry and black berry/currant fruit with notes of sweet spices and black pepper. Long and lingering finish and a lovely soft/silky texture. No sign of oak aging. Acidity is plentiful but well balanced. Quite fresh and bright! Solid QPR. — 8 months ago
Medium garnet with a medium wide garnet rim . Quite thick tears . A little high toned with an earthy tobacco , old wood , sous bois , spiced cherry , ripe blackberry note . On the palate this is quite rounded and juicy with sweet tannins spiced red plum , dark cherry and cassis . Ok balanced acidity , slightly warming alcohol . Medium spiced red plum and cherry finish . With more time in the glass this starts to become a little disjointed, I would recommend drinking this at a more or less cellar temperature, which wasn’t the case here . Ready now , still on its plateau of maturity but best from now and over the next 5 or so years . — 23 days ago

Resinous and acidic with unripe currants and raw red fruits. Lovely expression of the Bekaa valley and drinking very well — 6 months ago

This is the BEAUTIFUL 2018 Chateau Musar Gaston Hochar made from a blend that includes Obaideh and Merwah, indigenous white grape varieties, with a touch of Cinsault for color.
It has a deep salmon hue with complex aromas & flavors including expressive notes of licorice, anise, fennel, bruised apple, honeydew, Smarties®, dried chamomile, white tea, baked peach, lily, menthol, mint, mandarin peel, orange pith, almond skin, hazelnut, honeycomb, crushed stone, pool toy, vanilla, & acrylic paint.
On the palate this wine is dry, with crisp acidity, a creamy and textured mouthfeel, medium alcohol (12.5% ABV), and a persistent finish.
With each sip, it reveals layers, dimension after dimension. It’s a lovely, cerebral, and gastronomic wine. The culmination of history and artistry in the glass; a testament to the enduring passion, resilience, and soul of the Hochar family. — 5 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2021 pours, a ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and significant signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of fresh blackberries, black cherry, mixed flowers, and dry, rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. A great sophomore effort of the “Levantine de Musar”. Drink now through 2031.
