It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red and black fruits with cedar, licorice, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, earth and black tea.
Nice length on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 10 year old Merlot from Saint Emilion still feels young. Drinking very nicely now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
This second wine is good right out of the bottle, and much better after a couple of hours of airtime.
Wine Spectator 91 points. Wine Advocate 92 points.
A nice sipping wine that will also pair nicely with food.
A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Aged for 22 months in all new French oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Some fruit and vanilla ice cream in the nose and palate. Went well with both prosciutto and hard white cheese and a double chocolate brownie. — 6 months ago
2022 vintage. The back label sends you to the website of Producta Vignobles, a huge coopérative négociant company, the owners seem to be Marie Guyonnaud et Cyril Frémy. 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Lead pencil and cassis. Medium-bodied, with a pronounced minerality, somewhat hiding the fruit. Good value Saint-Estèphe ( 13 euros in a supermarket ), if a little lean at this stage. Abv. 13,5%. Suffers from the comparison with the 2023 Lilian Ladouys tasted alongside. Better the next day. — 3 months ago
A nice rose champagne that has strawberry flavors and a bit of lush! Very nice for the price! — 3 months ago
Strange and fantastic. Smoky, meaty, quite tart and delicious. — 2 years ago
"Odedi"
Light golden in color.
Nose of citrus, peaches, yellow apples, spices, light earth and herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with lemons, red and green apples, minerals, light grapefruits, herbs, spices, earth, light oak and light sea salt.
Long finish with limes and light almonds.
This is a delicious white blend from Southern France. Round and rich. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.
As it warms up, it feels like a white Burgundy. So interesting.
This Single Vineyard is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 20 minutes of airtime.
A great sipping wine that paired nicely with food too.
A blend of 68% Grenache Gris and 32% Macabeo. Aged on its lees, in used large French oak barrels for 14 months. Unfiltered and unfined. A small production of less than 2,000 bottles.
14% alcohol by volume.
