Saint - Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

2022 vintage. The back label sends you to the website of Producta Vignobles, a huge coopérative négociant company, the owners seem to be Marie Guyonnaud et Cyril Frémy. 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Cabernet Franc. Lead pencil and cassis. Medium-bodied, with a pronounced minerality, somewhat hiding the fruit. Good value Saint-Estèphe ( 13 euros in a supermarket ), if a little lean at this stage. Abv. 13,5%. Suffers from the comparison with the 2023 Lilian Ladouys tasted alongside. Better the next day. — 6 months ago

Some fruit and vanilla ice cream in the nose and palate. Went well with both prosciutto and hard white cheese and a double chocolate brownie. — 10 months ago

Still drinking quite decently after 25 years. May have faded a titch- but still bringing it well balanced. — a month ago

Côtes Catalanes White Blend 2023

Light golden in color.

Nose of citrus, peaches, yellow apples, spices, light earth and herbs.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with lemons, red and green apples, minerals, light grapefruits, herbs, spices, earth, light oak and light sea salt.

Long finish with limes and light almonds.

This is a delicious white blend from Southern France. Round and rich. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.

As it warms up, it feels like a white Burgundy. So interesting.

This Single Vineyard is drinking beautifully now, and will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 20 minutes of airtime.

A great sipping wine that paired nicely with food too.

A blend of 68% Grenache Gris and 32% Macabeo. Aged on its lees, in used large French oak barrels for 14 months. Unfiltered and unfined. A small production of less than 2,000 bottles.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$50.

Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Got some teeth on it. Very pleasant fruit, red and blue. Chalky tannins. Inexpensive and just fine to drink now.

Les Cotes Cornas Syrah 2020

A new producer for me that has been very impressive. Floral & elegant with a perfumed nose of dark red fruits, meat, iron, spice, olive, pepper, graphite & violets. Small production that is hard to source — 10 months ago
