Fruity and well balanced. — 9 months ago
Quite deep ruby and , garnet terracotta rim. Quite spicy nose , slightly green touches , mix of red and dark fruit . On the palate fills out quite well , good acidity , slightly gritty tannins still with mineral , tobacco notes on the finish . Ok reasonable length . This comes across a bit greener than I remember it , so not sure how representative this bottle is , fine to drink now and over the next 10 years . 91
Second bottle medium deep ruby with garnet rim . Took a bit of time to open up , but very good definition , red and dark fruits, truffle , undergrowth, cigar box and grafite. On the palate quite charming sweet red fruits, red plum, cassis , dried spices, undergrowth , elegant for las cases , grafite and tobacco stained finish . Well balanced acidity and quite gritty but ripe tannin . This is lovely now with time in the decanter and over the next 10 -15 years . Completely different from first bottle . — 3 years ago
Pocked with a Coravin weeks ago. I thought the 12’ was risky. But when you ‘think you know Enderle & Moll you actually don’t’. Dark cherries, lots of lift and freshness, orange zest, touch resinous, crushed rocks, lime, hint kaffir lime, Japanese cypress. Needs more time but shows now much better. After being disturbed and retried. Definitely wait! 13%. So! So little color - elegant. E&M’s Pinot’s are the most unique and most challenging to taste on the planet. World Class. — 4 years ago
Tasted blind. Reddish amber tawny, translucent. Corky nose. Notes of light red fruit, cherry, herbs. Ethereal in it's delivery and still chewy. Very refined. The light cork taint makes it difficult to guess and the team's guesses are all over the planet (I'm in Bordeaux land). There is some good stuff inside this but cork taint comes on more with air... bummer. (M's 60th bday 3rd of 14) — 5 years ago
Delicious and very well priced dry Riesling from one of my favorite places in the planet. — 7 years ago
Very fresh, clean, the softest mousse on the planet. Beautiful citrus, most delicate of minerals, gentle spice, grand acidity, focused precision and balance for days. Excellent. Just overtly expensive. — 4 months ago
If a wine does not meet your (high) expectations, is it a disappointment?? 🤔. Yeah, everything is relative. This six year old Gran Malbec was still super tight. Sharp, spicy oak tannins (lots of new French oak?) kept anything possibly underneath totally hidden. Although some greener notes came through early on and again later after about 2-3 hours of opening. So, yeah. Not balanced, very intense, limited lingering and single note. Agung will help for sure but not confident if this wine will ever fully shine. But don’t be down on Pulenta. Fantastic winery. We will visit this fall (their Spring) as Spoken Wines. Talking about Spoken Wines, have you seen our latest video story of Hartenberg?? And their incredible commitment to regenerative viticulture, lead by… cows!! Beautifully explained and demonstrated right in front of you by Wilhelm Joubert, the viticulturist. Check it out. And don’t miss the surprise at the end 😁. www.spokenwines.com — 2 years ago

Unquestionably some of the best Syrah on the planet, JLC made a wine that screams elegance in 2001. After an hour in the decanter is when it explodes to show its layered and intense aromatics and red fruited profile with smoked meats, lavender, saddle leather and a touch of savory herbs. The palate is juicy and bright with silky tannins, incredible balance and texture and a finish that just keeps going. 2001 is in a fantastic spot. — 4 years ago
Pretty classic for the most part. Nose has equal parts apple fruit (with a hint of underripe peach), chicken broth, wet limestoney sea shells, and a light toasty note. Good flavor intensity in the mouth, bone dry, vague whiff of oak, bright minerality driving the flavors. I would ideally like the acids to be higher, but we fucked up the planet so much that’s asking too much. Still very good! — 4 years ago
Like a Sangiovese but with a ‘greener’ nose. Strong body, tannic finish, but not overwhelming. Earth tones — 6 years ago
Fruit forward with some earth and spice. Very light. It grew on me. — 5 months ago
Disg. 2/14 (07 base)…Always my favorite of the Lieux-Dits and without question one of the very best Blanc de Blancs Champagnes on the planet, it’s particularly special to have with some bottle age. It’s absolutely as stunning as hoped—rich and powerful with crazy depth to its layers with a deep, complex core of caramelized orchard fruit, roasted nuts, old rum barrels and candied white flowers, all with seamless integration. The palate is generous and detailed, with racy acids, waves of saline laced, chalky Le Mesnil minerals and a finish that just stays with you. A BdB benchmark, legendary bubbles. — 9 months ago
How fascinating! Extracted but the tannins are very very subtle, very perfumed - violets and roses, but not particularly intense. Soft, easy, a summer drink despite the colour. I suspect the greener and more rosehippy elements in the finish might put off some, but I like it a lot. — 4 years ago
Cherry, menthol aromas. Medium bodied with medium acidity, more cherry fruit with earthy herbal flavors on the palate. Silky, smooth finish, hint of blackberry. Prior bottles of this vintage seemed to leaner/ greener, but not this one. Upright 5 days, decanted off sediment. — 5 years ago
On a different planet ... the nose is burgundian to the nth degree. Mature fruits yet still lifted by a bead of acidity. Earthy flavors are beginning to show up but the wine is still very primary. It is wines like these that make me remember why i fell in love with pinot. — 6 years ago
