Red fruit, cream and raspberry. Very smooth and balanced. Paired with chartreuse. — 9 months ago
$30 grape creek Fredericksburg
Light- not too sweet. Our charming 2023 Riesling is a brilliant pale straw in hue with a tiny hint of chartreuse. By far our driest Riesling yet with only about 1% residual sugar, the ABV is a late-afternoon friendly 11.4%.
Engaging floral aromas of honeysuckle, white rose petal, gardenia, and citrus blossom are in lovely harmony with nectarine, honey dew melon, and kiwi. The palate is well-balanced, crisp and clean, and finishes with a refreshing, brisk acidity. There is a subtle touch of minerality that should develop nicely with a year or so of bottle age. — 2 years ago
Really powerful, cherry, grilled apricot and stewed plum, earth, tar, gun metal, savory, very herbaceous and floral (reminiscent of green chartreuse). A bit tight but discovering new flavors as it opens up. Nice grip, hot, lifted, fantastic finish. Should improve with time. — 5 years ago
Saline and mineral when room temp got chartreuse//low abv herbal amaro vibe and some lasting mezcal vegetal finish — 6 years ago
Pale chartreuse color. Vibrant citrus and orchard fruit scents are complemented by suggestions of jasmine, green tea and chalky minerals. Fresh and incisive on the palate, offering nervy lime, green apple and quince flavors that deepen slowly on the back half and pick up hints of melon and white peach. Plays depth off of energy smoothly and finishes long, dry and precise, with a refreshingly bitter citrus pith note lingering. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, February 2019) — 7 years ago
2018 vintage. Last tasted 11.4.25 (9.3). Opened AND decanted (this time), tasting after 15 minutes and one hour with the temperature between 55-62 degrees. White pepper, citrus oils, lemon zest, trace minerals and hazelnuts. Perfectly between medium/medium-heavy body with that yellow Chartreuse color and a pleasing, sumptuous amount of total harmony. Miffy that this was the last bottle. Quite the ride. Contribution to the FLB (Friday Lunch Bunch). 2.13.26.

2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted multiple times at multiple temps from 30 mins open-3 hrs open and 45-60 degrees. Color somewhere between golden and Chartreuse yellow. Plenty of ripeness with remaining acidity crawling along the palate baseline. Do not see this improving but surmise it can hold steady at this mature Burgundy status for another 3-4 years. 02.22.25. — a year ago
Chartreuse pale. Zest of lemon with sweet round melon flavors. Needs a bit more avid for structure but goes well with grilled octopus. — 5 years ago
Quite consistent with my notes from ~6 months ago:
Nose has over-ripe apricot, almond oil, marzipan, meringue cookie and cold butter.
Palate has warmed apricot pie with extra flakey, buttery crust, sweet sand, white flower honey and mango.
Admittedly I love Sauternes and have many bottles, yet it's a rarity on opening and posting to the Community. We paired this bottle with a hard, smoked goat cheese from a local, Hudson valley producer, a solid match of sweet and salty. — 7 years ago
2008 vintage. Yeah, some wackoid(s) gave this 100 points. Whatevs. Arrived at 70-72 degrees. Zero chill. Immediately plunged into an ice bath. Used a Durand to open but the über-dry cork just laughed at it and decided to pixelate into small, broken safety glass-styled fragments. Not the sign I was looking for. Here comes the funnel + screen + decanter to save the day. That screen needs a raise come review time. Put the decanter atop the ice bath with a protective serviette between and gave it another 5-6 mins in the chill. Color not quite yellow Chartreuse but pretty close. Tasted at approx 58-59 degrees. Like a trip to the confectionery + bakery. Whoa! Medium/medium-heavy body and this was popping. Splashes and suggestions of fruits, bread products and baking spices without an overriding, final boss. Phenomenal. Can’t give it a Wilt but it did not suck and should drink as such for at least another half-decade. Have had plenty of Marcassin whites and reds and this was the best of the lot. Transcendent. For all that…? 9.6. Soviet…er…Russian judge mode deployed. 3.6.25. — 4 months ago

2014 vintage. Decanted and tasted 30 mins and an hour post-decant. Yellow Chartreuse color. Beautiful vanilla/cinnamon Jeffrey pine at dawn nose. That flowed over into the flavors along with substantial mineral components. Showing great. Very enjoyable. 1.12.24. — 2 years ago
Light chartreuse. Expressive, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by subtle floral and herb notes. Penetrating Meyer lemon, pear, honeysuckle and ginger flavors take a turn to deeper peach and melon with air. Conveys depth but comes off lithe, finishing with sharp definition and resonating floral and mineral flourishes. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, June 2021)

Great to finally get this in a glass. PB CH grapes came into the winery pristine, fully intact and healthy. I remember tasting the macros and thinking how they would turn out, given how crisp and fresh they were on the palate with zingy acid and full flavor. Direct translation from vineyard and vintage to bottle, always a hallmark of these wines. Energetic, fresh, bursting with bright flavors of citrus, crisp orchard fruits, chartreuse, and lemon blossom, all backed by a jolt of salty minerality. Focused, nothing excessive, nothing too austere either, very harmonious and even-keeled on all fronts. — 7 years ago
I would buy this again in a heartbeat. — 7 years ago

This is the high end yellow Chartreuse. Slightly sweeter than the high end green Chartreuse (9.8) and with different complexities. Still phenomenal and worth tasting/seeking out. Will likely last us around 3.5-4 months. 1 liter sized bottle. Time to start shopping for another bottle. 6.12.26. — 12 days ago
