Opened about an hour prior to service; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 Cepparello pours a garnet color with a translucent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, black tea, a combination of cool and warm spices and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. A beautiful Cepparello and although it’s quite young, it’s showing well in its relative youth! Drink now with some patience through 2044. — 18 hours ago

Blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaolo, medium Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, floral and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of sour cherry, currant and raspberry with tobacco, baking spices and nutty notes. Fine rustic tannins, vivid acidity, medium finish ending with fruit and earthy spice. 2020 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 15 mins and 2 hours. Medium/medium-heavy body (as usual) first sampling. Meaty (but not beefy) with dark plum as backup/the club bouncer. Slightly chunky but eminently drinkable. Ff two hours and the body thinned out slightly with the club bouncer’s shift over. Dark plum gonzo and cola + Luxardo cherry now driving the party bus. Not quite as structured as the massive 2019 or as precious as the 2018. This is in a great spot now, if you must, and should be an absolute delight in 5-10 years. 3.6.25. — 23 days ago

This sample was given to me. Tannins are resolved to the point of almost nonexistent. A fair amount of acid with what little fruit was dark and baked. Cherries leather and tobacco leaf. Darn yummy but I wish I had some food with it. — 4 days ago
