Pure decadence! Initial impressions of lemon custard rippled heavily with pure sweet vanilla eventually give way to flavors of baked apricots and peaches.
Luc Morlet, the previous wine maker from Peter Michael, certainly knows how to make a good wine. A few of you that have posted other wines from their portfolio can vouch on the increasing difficulty to find their allocations. Definitely buy when you find! — 4 years ago
Very solid Loire Sauvignon Blanc. Steep Hill Importer-I like their portfolio as seems to emphasize true to type varietals. Nothing flashy, just good ol fashioned terroir. — 5 years ago
Very nice! The nose is straight out of the a Wagner portfolio. — 5 years ago
Oldest in the Penfolds portfolio, Wine includes fruit from Barossa, McLaren Vale, Padthaway, Clare and Wrattonbully vineyards, aged 12 months in American oak, 7% new. Deep Ruby color with aromas of dark berry fruits and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, plum and cherry with cacao, espresso and vanilla oak. Vivid acidity, ripe fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and spice, very nice! Good value with aging potential. — 5 months ago
Greg and Louis late evening visit. Asked for St Emilian and found this first. Surprisingly fresh tasting with good mellowed dark red fruits and balanced palate. Yum. Only bottle probably. Ancient Vineyard folded into chateau Quintus in Dillon portfolio in 2012. 40/20/20 Merlot Cab Franc Cab. — 4 years ago
Fruit forward, light tannin.

The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus is pure and total seduction. Trotanoy and perhaps also Hosanna have traditionally been viewed as more exclusive Pomerols in the Moueix portfolio. The more time passes, the less I share that view. Sure, La Fleur-Pétrus does not have the mystique associated from a small single vineyard - as many Pomerols do - and yet there is no denying the elegance and class here. Bright red fleshed fruit, blood orange and exotic spice race across the palate, framed by silky, plush tannins that wrap it all together. La Fleur-Pétrus is fabulous. That's all there is to it. 2018 vintage.
39 % Merlot, 21 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 14 % Syrah, 12 % Malbec, 10 % Cabernet Franc and 4 % Petit Verdot. Always a secretive blend. You don’t know the varietal mix and percentages until you peel back the foil from the bottle neck. It changes every year.
Bright ruby red with aromas of red cherry, milk chocolate and cocoa spice.
Medium bodied with still fresh acidity.
Blackberry, red plum, dark cherry with a bit spicy finish

Not quite as focused as the Les Clos and Butteaux, but still very enjoyable.
Servin have demonstrated to us that they have a strong wine portfolio. — 4 years ago
Last ‘16. Founded in 1973 in the Sonoma Valley, Chateau St. Jean produces an extensive portfolio of Sonoma County wine, including the award winning Cinq Cépages, a Bordeaux style blend of “five varieties." From various vineyards on Sonoma, wine shows black fruit aromas and sweet spice. On the palate ripe fruit flavors of blackberry and cherry with cinnamon and cacao. Tannins are fine with balanced acidity on long finish. — 4 years ago
80% Grenache, 20% Syrah
Nice wine brand to explore. In the voice of Pauly Shore “astrological... buddy”.
Needs 3 hr decant (journey along the way was very interesting, with lots of plot twists, and interesting views).
Nice fruit level, red and dark berry, black plum, persimmon (?mushiness on the tip of tounge?), rocks, cement, bitter, medium tannin.
Im down, eager to explore more of the portfolio. Very nice CDR. — 6 years ago
