Pietra Marina Etna Bianco Superiore Carricante

John W
9.6

2020 Pietra marina - Etna Bianca superiore. Golden straw coloration. From Mila, birthplace of carricante, why it’s superiore. On the nose, citrus, herbaceous, salinity and minerality. On the palate, rich mouthfeel, citrus, herbs, salinity from the sea, and a finish of herbs (tarragon?) and minerals. Interesting- combo of Chablis and Chardonnay. Paired with mushroom and spring onion mayonnaise. — 9 months ago

Vincent Dauvissat

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2012

Stunning. Dauvissat perfection. 2012 Clos is perfect tonight, with more fruit definition than Preuses as expected from the site. It’s textural, chiseled and powerful with Chablisen oyster shell minerality layered in a tidal wave of spiced orchard fruit and white flowers. It’s incredibly silky on the palate showing killer volume and density with racy citrusy acids and a sea spray-like salinity to round it out. When Dauvissat is on it’s hard to beat. And this is still young. — 24 days ago

Getaria Getariako Txakolina Rosé Blend 2024

Absolute fan of this producer. These are wine of place! Where mountainside cliffs meet the sea and the vines on the cliffs are kissed by the mist of the Cantabrian sea. Their wines have a natural light effervescence a touch of salinity. — 2 months ago

Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

Pale lemon in color.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and tiny bubbles.

Dry on the palate and elegant.

Showing limes, grapefruits, yeast, spices, brioche, minerals, light earth, sea salt and herbs.

Tangy long finish with limes and light almonds.

This is a delicious Non Vintage Champagne. Showing a great mouthfeel with nice complexity.
