On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and dried fruits: blackberry, black cherry, plum, pipe tobacco, purple flowers, cocoa, leather, organic earth and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. 2017 vintage. Last tasted 8.8.24 (9.4), 3.15.22 (9.4) and 8.27.21 (9.4). IIRC…95% Merlot, 5% Cab Franc. Medium body. Lost a little weight and oak influence. Consequently, many of the overt, feminine influences so noticeable the last few years, have retreated a tad. More prominent dark chocolate and earthy tones currently. On the nose, the wine is vinous with positively charming notes of plum, brambles, grilled Poblano pepper, pipe tobacco, dried mixed flowers, a mix of organic and inorganic earth, fine wood and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and savory. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. The nose alone is worthy of songs.
