A fantastic nose. Intense lemon, cool slate, an oiliness. Surprisingly oaky on the palate. Lovely balance and freshness but a few more years to let that oak settle and this should be amazing — 12 days ago
Intense and pretty with a bit of VA on the nose at first that blows off. Very pure fruit but still young and quite gnarly. Serious stuff, dark and intense. Will this ever dance lightly? I don’t know… impressive but less drinkable now that the 2000 alongside. — 4 days ago
Simply brilliant! 2 hours slow ox and drank over the next three aromatically a bit dark, nose of tar, tobacco, dried rose petals wonderfully beautifully mid palate brilliantly balanced the wine is simply amazing! — 6 days ago
Unbelievable. So much flavor, so light yet good texture and long finish. Probably my favorite. — 3 days ago
With a four hour decant this 2001 Rousseau Chambertin was ethereally light with a good finish but not as complex or the signature sappy fruit associated with Rousseau. A good wine not great. Next time will use a two hour decant — 11 days ago

Trivia at Aldo Sohm wine bar. Our team lost by one point. This wine won by many points. I blind tasted my staff and they converged around Rhone. Great stuff! — 6 days ago
