Cuvée La Tourtine Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2019

Opened about an hour in advance of dinner and enjoyed over the course of several hours alongside the 2017 La Migoua and 2020 Lulu & Lucien. No formal notes. The 2019 La Tourtine is phenomenal. Surprisingly more open than expected but still showing its youth with everything still primary. On this night, to my palate, it was far and away the most impressive of the three. It had a streak of dried herbs and smoked meat that was really attractive. Structure for dayzzzz. Baller stuff with traditional cassoulet. Drink now with patience through 2044. — 5 months ago

Palette Grand Cru de Provence White Rhone Blend 2016

Always so refined, with a beautiful amber color and bold nose of crunchy, ripe yellow fruit. Nose has notes of lemongrass, fennel and lemon rind, and like, moth balls, or something that reminds one of grandma’s house potpourri. Medium to full bodied, with a bold mouthfeel, notes of overripe opal apple, golden fig, latex, hints of pineapple and amber, and a loooong finish that sizzles with energy long after the sip is finished. — 5 months ago

Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2012

Bought a case at the property in 2015 I think. This bottle, number 11, was probably the best one yet. When to open the last one?!? — 6 months ago

Château Pradeaux

Bandol Mourvedre - Cinsault Rosé Blend 2024

Dark copper in color. A beautiful color.

Strong nose and medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing raspberries, cherries, citrus, apples, spices, light earth and herbs.

Nice finish with lemons and light almonds.

This tasty Rosé from Bandol is still very young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Already drinking very nicely, and will continue to get better in the next 10 years. I had the 2023 vintage recently, and it is already drinking better now.

Rich and well structured. Nicely balanced and easy drinking.

A nice sipping wine, good by itself or with food.

A blend of 70% Mourvedre, 25% Cinsault and 5% Grenache.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

91 points.

$35.

Light nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing raspberries, strawberries, currants, lemons, peaches, spices, sea salt and light earth.

Tangy finish with grapefruits and limes.

This is a young Rosé from Bandol. Spicy and fruit forward. Elegant with a soft mouthfeel.

Nicely balanced and already showing nice complexity.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Good right out of the bottle and good by itself as a sipping wine.

A blend of 70% Mourvedre and 30% Cinsault from 45 year old vines.

13.5% alcohol by volume.

Cuvée Spéciale La Migoua Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2008

The colour is a surprisingly a youthful deep Ruby with purple tinges considering its 17 years of age. Dusty plum and herbal aromas. Ultra savoury on the medium bodied palate. An excellent example of perhaps the best terroir for Mourvèdre - Provence. Jancis’s drinking window was 2010 to 2020 which proves yet again how drinking windows are an inexact science considering that this wine was still kicking goals in 2025. — 8 months ago

@Bob McDonald I find the drinking windows provided by JR are very conservative.

I think they are conservative with a reason. They don’t want negative feedback if they predict windows beyond the quality of a persons storage. Many/most people do not have ideal or perfect storage.

La Migoua Bandol Mourvedre Blend 2017

Opened about an hour in advance of dinner and enjoyed over the course of several hours alongside the 2019 La Tourtine and 2020 Lulu & Lucien. No formal notes. The 2017 La Migoua is a veritable bank vault. The darkest of fruits and a mountain of structure. Like every other La Migoua I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing, this requires decades of time to uncoil. Keep this is the deepest, darkest part of your cellar for years to come. To my palate, I would probably hold until 2032 and then enjoy through 2057. — 5 months ago

Bandol Rosé Blend

Salmon color with copper reflexes. Nose of grapefruit, and Mandarin peel, lemon juice, pink flowers, and petrichor. Faint Aperol on the back. Palate is explosive but not effusive. More grapefruit oil, lemon pith, garrigue, waves of saline minerality and a bright acidity that makes it go on and on. Pretty serious argument on why it deserves its reputation is the best rosé in the world — 7 months ago

God tier wine! When Jesus turned water into wine, this is what I imagine he made. Desecrated fruit on the nose, taking me to the depths. Cherry notes, high acidity, high tannins, like licking the lacquer off a wooden table but you like it — 7 months ago
