Super interesting – barbecue, smoke and green pepper really different but enjoyable. Quite a distinct flavor. — 7 days ago
Drinking well but should get better. Dark cherry, black licorice, anise. — 4 months ago
Classic La Mission nose showing mostly black fruits, with notes of smoke, cedar, licorice, leather, mocha, underbrush & cigar ash. Just entering its prime with many years ahead — 6 months ago

Love these wines. 2014 Reynard is showing beautifully after sufficient aeration, layered and complete, wafting cassis, campfire smoke, olive tapenade and violets. The palate is seamless, elegant and satiny with a liquid rock minerality, fine grained tannins and massive length. A killer Reynard that right now is even more showy than surrounding vintages. — 6 months ago
Apricot & honey on the nose, body creamy & rich with good mouthfeel and long finish with a note of hazelnut at the very end. This 10 year old held up extremely well — 7 months ago
A Quintessential Pauillac, starting with its deeply dark appearance, black fruit aromatics and flavors, firm and balanced structure with abundant fruit, medium acidity, chalky tannins and a long finish.
Overall, the savory 2005, (one of several wines purchased to celebrate grandson Carter McMillan’s birth year), is smoothly textured, medium/full with the energy and vitality of a much younger wine, showing seductive elements of spice, smoke, currants and mocha. Pauillac aficionados, this is for you. — 9 months ago
Bright ruby garnet with quite narrow garnet rim . Quite closed at first with mineral , cassis , sous bois , cigar box , touch of smoke . On the palate very intense with lots of cigar box tinged cassis , blackberry , cedar , coffee. Gritty but integrated tannins , fresh acidity . Very long and complex on the finish . This is still young but is starting to show what it can do , perfectly balanced and enormously long . Precise and for Las Cases very elegant . Now and for the next 10-15 years . — 2 years ago
Solid non-California-tasting California Pinot Noir. Fruit and earth. Had a nice pop of fruit in the glass but lingers with some earthy aftertaste. — 20 days ago
