Domaine Serene

Evenstad Reserve Dundee Hills Chardonnay

The somm at Spago Las Vegas recommended this to go with poached halibut. Nice choice. Minerally, not oaky. A bit of citrus “surprise”. — 8 days ago

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir

2016 vintage. From a magnum. Medium body. Built for the long haul and not stopping at any of the stations near you-now or anytime soon. Dark fruits and earth but no one aspect leaping out. Team effort and in exactly zero rush to arrive. 3.27.26. — 2 months ago

Little Hill Pinot Noir 2018

We had a vertical tasting of 2018 and 2020 Little Hill Single Vineyard PN. Both have similar bouquets and palates. Black cherry and minerality. 2020 is a little more floral. 2018 has a more darker tone; and that is good. Both have nice mouthfeels with smoothed out tannins. 2018 is a little more velvety. Both very good. It seems these PN need more time in the bottle — 3 months ago

Nice transparency. Cherry and a bit of vanilla on the palate. An Oregon favorite. May 2026. — 10 days ago

Château de Beaucastel

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 1988

Super clean and still quite youthful, this is a GREAT example of a 1980s CdP from a vintage of little surmaturite, so awesome balance and perfect acidity suggests this vintage will easily last another 5-10 years!! — 2 days ago

What a triumvirate of CDPs!

@Tom Casagrande, another example of a great bottle outperforming critical reviews — of the 3 CdPs, the ratings given years ago would have been higher for the ‘89 Beau and ‘90 Pegau!!

Château Margaux

Premier Grand Cru Classé Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 1988

quite austere. Dark fruit with a bit of sour plum and a savory core of fruit. Black pepper. Constrained and a little under in terms of ripeness and depth. — 3 months ago

Domaine de la Côte

Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2021

Deep Ruby color with aromas of black fruits, cedar, citrus, herbs and floral spice. On the palate flavors of cherry, cranberry and blackberry with floral and sweet herb spice notes. Full-bodied, fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, slight oak, herbs and a savory earthy mineral character. Nice, will age but Decant now! — a month ago

Domaine de la Côte

Bloom's Field Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir

12.5% with lots of sediment. The glass was partially clouded with sediment. That doesn’t happen often with Pinot. A beauty. — 3 months ago
