A 2nd Grand Cru Classé 1855 Chateau located in the southern end of Pauillac that produces powerful wines with amazing structure wines.
V.2018 was beautifully blended at 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35%Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 8%Petit Verdot, that delivers high-powered notes of espresso, tobacco leaves, and dense-black fruits on the nose.
Full-bodied, rich and velvety with an exquisite silken mouthfeel that is so signature of Pauillac wines, very plushy and opulent, yet well-priced and worth every single sip to the very last drop.
Age worthy to a decade if patient. However; literally couldn’t wait for it and had it all in a single seat! — 17 days ago

Delicious 2019 vintage — 10 days ago
Quite deep ruby , narrow ruby rim. Deep and more concentrated on the nose , with dark cassis , ripe summer fruits , dark cherry , grafite , oyster shell notes. On the palate this is quite rich and decadent , cassis , ripe blackberry , blueberry a, dark cherry . Sweet but ample tannin , balanced acidity , quite rich but well balanced , good blackcurrant, grafite tinged , length . This is showing well but will continue to do so over the next 10-15 years , perhaps longer . — a month ago
Beautiful left bank BDX. ‘19 vintage at a nice stage now, opens up quickly. Classic earthy tones on the nose. Nice structure and layers of fruit. Delicious. Perfect with burgundy Tri tip BBQ for Easter. — 15 days ago
2011 vintage. 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 11% Petit Verdot. This property was bought by the Bouygues brothers in 2006, the same year when they bought Montrose (up to first growth quality these days, and I gave the 2020 a perfect score). They made huge investments to increase the quality, and this 2011 is a very good effort in a much maligned vintage that remains in the shadow of the great 2010 and 2009 vintages. While the tannins have a slightly rough edge to them, it is balanced and satisfying, and a testimony to Bordeaux's ageing capacities, even in lesser vintages. An attractive food wine, and very good value too. Abv. 13%. — a month ago
Even more fantastic than the previous bottle of 2010 I enjoyed a year ago. Decanted and enjoyed over 7 hours. This was good from first pour but became great and then magnificent over the next 3.5 and 7 hours. It was still full of verve on the last sip! Early only it was more dark fruit but over time the wines softened and became a bit sweeter and rounder. Tremendous length and complexity. — 22 days ago

Dark and bridging. Some spice and bridging herbal notes. Gnarly fruit. Still quite dense. Serious stuff — 8 days ago
