Moulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Really made wine with fantastic QPR. Easy to pair, crowd pleaser and basically just delicious. Paired with steak and roast potatoes 😋 — 9 days ago

@Andrew McIntyre, first vintage of Bordeaux I purchased in any quantity were the 1982s — better stuff on futures, and then landed stuff (mostly from the DC shop near the Key Bridge?) — Poujeaux was one of this well less than $100 PER CASE!! (Hell, I bought 1982 Grand Puy Lacoste for $125/case, Cos for $144/6 magnums, etc.) — different wine market in the mid-1980s. With that said, loved Poujeaux, Coufran, La Dominique, Sociando Mallet, GPL, etc. from that 1982 vintage, such bargains and really incredible drinkers!!

Château Branas Grand-Poujeaux

Moulis en Médoc Merlot Blend 2016

2016 vintage. Smoky nose at first, developing well with air. More power and depth compared to the floral and fresh Mauvesin Barton tasted alongside. — 3 months ago

Château Durfort-Vivens

Margaux Cru Classé en 1855 Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

2019 vintage. I had very little experience with Durfort-Vivens before, but today's tasting was extraordinary. The grand vin 2019 is stunning, concentrated and elegant at the same time, with an incredible purity of fruit, and haute couture tannins, culminating in a very long finish. Well worth the money. — 6 months ago

Château Brane-Cantenac

Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2021

2021 vintage. Courtesy of @Neil Valenzuela Decanted and tasted after 1 hour. Light medium/medium body. Backing band and structure mainly there. Intro and middle of the song catchy. Last third/finish will round into form in the next 7-8 years. Pretty introduction as we speak. Def beyond above-average producer that strives for (leaner) balance. So young but feel like this will represent that eventually. 12.10.25. — 5 days ago

Deep purple color. Aromas of dried violets, tobacco and cedar. Took a bit to open up, elegant flavors of black fruit and oak on the finish.

🍇74% cab, 22% Merlot, 2% cab franc, 1% carmenere and 1% petit verdot.
